WEX Corporate Headquarters ^{Commercial & Industrial}

E.S. Boulos was the electrical contractor for the design-build delivery of WEX, Inc.’s new global headquarters, located across from Portland’s eastern waterfront at the corner of Hancock and Thames streets.

The 100,000-square-foot building consists of four stories of mixed-use office and storefront retail space and features an open-office environment designed to encourage employee collaboration with organic meeting spaces, open and enclosed, breakout rooms, huddle areas, adjustable furniture, and individual focus rooms. Amenities include a rooftop deck, indoor bike storage, individual shower rooms, and a locker area near the first-floor employee entrance. On each floor, break areas with kitchens and private wellness rooms.

E.S. Boulos crews installed the roll-up generator connection, fire alarm system, and high-end LED lighting and a low-voltage lighting controls system with shade integration and site lighting. All office space lighting is dimmable and programmed to work with daylight sensors for light harvesting and energy efficiency.
