November 16, 2017 Active Hurricane Season Brings Challenges, Gratitude

E.S. BOULOS AND OTHER SUBSIDIARIES MOBILIZE TO RESTORE POWER DURING VERY INTENSE STORM SEASON.

The year 2017 has been one of the most active, dangerous and expensive Atlantic storm seasons to date. Close to nine million people lost power on the mainland following Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

For MYR Group and its subsidiaries, it was a major test to the companies’ manpower, mobile response, equipment, and expertise. Crews from five MYR Group subsidiaries, E.S. Boulos, Harlan Electric, The L.E. Myers Co., Sturgeon Electric, and Great Southwestern Construction, traveled to hard-hit areas to reconstruct distribution lines to get power restored to residents like Lindsey Crosby of Callahan, Fla.

“It’s just very warming to know that people from all over the country chip in and do what they can and what they’re good at to get everybody back to normalcy,” Crosby said.

Line workers across MYR Group have received an incredible reception from numerous people expressing gratitude for helping restore electricity to their communities.

We commend all the crews for their sacrifice and efforts to overcome the challenges associated with emergency storm response.
